I have had neonatal’s in an incubator for a week. You can leave a weak puppy in an incubator overnight and know it will be kept at exactly the right temperature. You can heat towels in the dryer or rice bags in the microwave. A puppy can go with out food for 24hrs, but cold can kill in under an hour.Īn Incubator with 105 F regulated temperature will bring a puppy from the brink of death to a squirming puppy who wants to nurse with in an hour. Energy that the puppy could used to get warm will be diverted to digest milk.

Putting milk on board will stress the puppy further. The temptation is to get a bottle and feed some warm milk. If it is cold or there is no suckle response first order is to get it’s body temperature back up. It should be nice and warm and the puppy should start suckling. Small and weak puppies are the most vulnerable. A cold puppy will become lethargic and die in a matter of an hour or two. Smaller or weaker pups can end up in an area where there’s no heat and lose body temperature quickly. Puppies snuggle up to mother and keep warm but they also get pushed away from mother by competing pups. New born puppies can’t regulate the temperature for the first week, So they have to have a source of heat keep them from getting cold. The single biggest killer of puppies is cold. Myra in the future! I am completely in love with this breed and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MS.MYRA!!!! Her pups are the most beautiful and most healthy that you will find.Incubators Save Lives If You Raise Puppies You Need One And we have introduced a new larger version Hundreds of people are using our incubators around the world Honestly, I thank God for her and without this woman… we would never have had our precious Ginger who has been EXTREMELY HEALTHY and she is so very beautiful! Our babies are approaching 9 this Summer… and I hope to buy more babies from Ms. You can tell after meeting with her how much she loves what she does. Her home was not only clean, and no animal smell at all… but she had playpens and toys everywhere for her pups. She said her goodbyes to our new pup, and we started on our long drive home with our “Ginger”… I can tell you that this woman is a wonderful pet mother.

At that instant my husband told her, that’s the one!” We decided to buy her and Myra gave us some food (baked chicken) for that evening for her. Myra brought out a little girl, sat her down on the table briefly, brushing her hair and then handed her to me to see. We called her and explained our situation, and drove several hours to her home hoping to find the perfect HEALTHY companion for our Baby Misty. My sick puppy made it through and so we were trying to not repeat that mistake and started our search for a reputable breeder at the advice from my Vet. They flew this tiny 1lb pup to Gainesville and when my Vet saw her for her check-up the next day, it revealed a very sick pup that we were not sure would make it. The female puppy that I had purchased after finding her picture online, was from a website based in Miami. My husband and I did a tremendous amount of investigating hoping to find a REPUTABLE breeder to get a HEALTHY companion for our other Toy Maltese that I previously had unknowingly purchased from a puppy mill.
